Using Dedicated Accounts across multiple projects

Say you run an agency with three clients in Engain: a SaaS tool, a skincare brand and a coffee shop. Each one is its own project. Should one Dedicated Account post for all three? Almost never. A Reddit account that talks about CRM software in the morning and moisturizer in the afternoon looks just like the shared accounts Reddit bans.
The short answer: give each brand its own Dedicated Account, and limit each account to that brand's project. Every account in your workspace can be set to work with all projects or only the ones you choose, and admins can change this anytime.
One account per brand, or one shared account?
The test is simple: would it look natural for one real person to talk about everything this account talks about? If not, split it.
Setting project access when you add an account
When you add an account, you'll see Which projects can use it? near the bottom of the page:
All projects: every project in your workspace can post from this account.
Only some projects: pick the projects that can use it.
If you use Automatic setup, we pick the topic and subreddits from the project shown in the setup preview. So before you add an account for a client, switch to that client's project first. That way the account is built around the right brand from day one.
Changing project access later
Only workspace admins can change which projects an account works with.
Go to Settings, then the Dedicated Accounts tab.
Under Project access, find the account.
Use the dropdown next to it to choose All projects or a specific project.
Think twice before moving an account to a brand in a different niche. Its history is built around its original topic, so a sudden switch can make it look less natural. If a new client needs an account, it's usually safer to add a new one.
How it looks day to day
Project tags on every card. On your Accounts page, each card shows which projects can use the account, like All projects, Acme Analytics, or more than one project side by side.
The account dropdown follows your project. When you create a thread, the dropdown only lists dedicated accounts that the current project is allowed to use. If an account you expect isn't there, check that you're in the right project.
Switching projects. Use the project menu at the top of the sidebar to move between projects. Your Accounts page and dropdown update to match.
Billing with multiple projects
Dedicated Accounts are billed to your workspace, not to each project. Volume discounts count every account in your workspace. See Dedicated Accounts pricing for the details.
Common questions
Can two projects share one account? Yes. Set it to All projects, or pick both projects. Just make sure both brands fit the account's topic.
Can I move an account from one project to another? Yes, a workspace admin can change it under Settings > Dedicated Accounts. For a brand in a different niche, a new account is usually safer.
Who can change project access? Only workspace admins. Other team members can still post from any account their project is allowed to use.
Does the account included with Pro or Max work across projects? Yes. Like any other account, you choose which projects can use it.
