My Dedicated Account was banned: replacement or refund

We work hard to keep your accounts safe, but Reddit sometimes bans an account anyway. If that happens, you're covered. When an account is banned before it posts any comments, you can choose a free replacement with a fresh warm-up, or a full refund. Your subscription is paused until you decide, and your other accounts aren't affected.

Here's what you'll see and what to do.

How you'll know

When we detect a ban, the account moves to the Needs attention tab on your Accounts page and the count in the Need your attention tile goes up. The account's card turns red, shows a Banned badge and the date, and explains what you can do next.

Click Choose on the card to open the account and pick what happens next.

What you'll see on the account page

The account page tells you exactly what happened, so you're never left guessing.

What happened shows a timeline of the account, from the day it was created to the day we detected the ban. For example:

  • Sep 12: Account created

  • Sep 26: Warm-up finished, ready to post

  • Sep 30: Suspended by Reddit before any comments

  • Oct 1: We detected the ban

The What happened timeline

On the right, At the time of the ban shows the account's karma, how many comments it had posted, and how old it was.

Choosing a free replacement or a full refund

To get a replacement:

  1. Open the banned account (or click Choose on its card).

  2. Select Free replacement.

  3. Click Get my replacement.

We'll create a new account and start its 10-day warm-up right away. You'll find it on your Accounts page as Warming up.

To get a refund:

  1. Open the banned account.

  2. Select Full refund and confirm.

The refund goes back the same way you paid, to your card or as credits, and that account's subscription ends.

Good to know

  • You get 2 free replacements a month. The account page shows how many you have left, like "2 of 2 free replacements left this month."

  • You're not charged while you decide. The subscription stays paused until you pick a replacement or a refund.

  • Your other accounts keep working. A ban on one account doesn't affect any of your others.

  • The account included with Pro or Max isn't replaced. It's free for as long as your plan renews, but if Reddit bans it, it isn't replaced.

  • Banned after posting? If the account had already posted comments, the options may be different. Reach out through Report a problem and we'll look into it.

Think something's wrong?

If an account looks banned but isn't marked that way, or something else seems off, let us know. Open the account and click Report (or Report a problem on a banned account). Pick the reason, add a link to the post or comment if you have one, and click Send report. Reporting is free.
