Using your Dedicated Accounts: posting, karma building, profiles and tracking

Once your Dedicated Account finishes its 10-day warm-up and turns Active, it's ready to use. This guide covers the four things you'll do with it most: post, build karma, manage its profile, and track how it's doing. Each section links to a detailed article.

Posting and commenting

Posting from your dedicated account works like posting anywhere else in Engain. The only difference is which account you pick, and when you pick your own, it's free.

• Where to start: from a thread in New Opportunities, SEO Opportunities or Smart Search, from the Sandbox, or by clicking Create a thread on the account page or Post on its card.

• Pick the account: click the account dropdown next to a comment or reply and choose your account under Your dedicated accounts. The cost changes to Free.

• Timing: we space comments about 6 hours apart to keep the account safe. You can post now or schedule for later.

• Threads: if the first post or comment in a thread comes from your dedicated account, you can't add more replies under it in that thread.

Building karma

Many bigger subreddits only let accounts above a certain karma post. Karma building grows your account's karma first, for free.

• Open an Active account, scroll to Karma building, choose 3 to 30 days, and click Start building.

• The 100+, 500+ and 1,000+ karma markers show which subreddit minimums you'll reach.

• Posting is paused while it builds. Cancel anytime if you need to post sooner.

Managing the profile

The profile is what people see when they click the account's name on Reddit, so keep it consistent with the account's topic.

• Click Edit on the account page or the Profile card, or Edit profile from the card's ••• menu.

• You can change the banner, profile picture, display name and bio. The username can't be changed.

Tracking your account

• Status: each account shows Warming up, Active, Building karma or Needs attention. See Dedicated Account statuses explained.

• Accounts page: the tiles at the top show how many accounts are ready to post, getting ready, or need your attention, plus your free posts this month. See Your Accounts page and account statuses.

• Recent activity: the account page lists its latest posts and comments. Click View all tasks to see everything.

• Track Tasks: everything your account posts appears in Track Tasks, where the cost shows as Free.
