How to add a non-clickable domain in a comment

In Engain, domains are non-clickable by default. This lets you mention your site safely without triggering Reddit’s link filters unless you manually add a hyperlink.

How it works in Engain

  • Typing example.com keeps it as plain text

  • Plain text domains are not hyperlinks

  • Reddit treats them as normal text

This improves stick rate by default.

Add a non-clickable domain (recommended)

  1. Type your domain normally in the editor

    Example: example.com

  2. Do not use the link icon

  3. Publish the comment

The domain will appear as plain text and won’t be clickable

Add a clickable link to a domain

A domain only becomes clickable if you manually create a link:

  • Highlight example.com

  • Click the link icon

  • Paste the URL and save

This turns it into a clickable hyperlink and increases removal risk.

Add a clickable link inside text

You can also attach a link to any text, not just the domain:

  • Highlight the text (example: this proxy provider)

  • Click the link icon

  • Paste the URL and save

The selected text will now be clickable and work exactly like a normal hyperlink.

Tip

Use plain text domains for soft mentions.

Only add hyperlinks on high-traffic Reddit posts where adding a link is worth the risk.

Summary: Engain keeps domains non-clickable by default. Links are only added when you manually create them, giving you full control over stick rate and risk.
