Building karma for your Dedicated Account
Grow your account's karma before you post, so bigger subreddits don't filter your content.

Many subreddits only let accounts above a certain karma post or comment. Content from accounts below that line gets filtered or removed, and repeated removals put the account at risk. Karma building grows your account's karma before you start posting. It's free, and it's currently in Beta.
When to use it
You want to post in larger subreddits that set a karma minimum. Check each subreddit's rules or sidebar to find it.
Your comments keep getting filtered or removed because the account's karma is too low.
Your account just finished warm-up and you're aiming for competitive communities.
How to start karma building
In the left sidebar, click Dedicated Accounts, then Accounts.
Open an account with the Active status.
Scroll to the Karma building card.
Drag the How long? slider to choose 3, 5, 7, 10, 14, 21 or 30 days. The end date shows on the right, for example 7 days · until Mon, Nov 2.
Use the chart and the 100+, 500+ and 1,000+ karma markers to see which subreddit minimums your chosen length will reach.
Click Start building.
What happens while it builds
Posting is paused. The account can't post or comment until karma building ends. The card shows the date, for example Paused for posts and comments until Mon, Nov 2.
The status changes. The account moves to the Building karma tab on your Accounts page.
It can't be picked for posts. In the account dropdown in the Sandbox or thread builder, it shows as Building karma until it's done.
When the end date arrives, the account goes back to Active and you can post as usual.
Need to post sooner?
You can cancel anytime. Open the account and click Cancel karma building in the Karma building card. The account can post again right away.
How long should I pick?
Shorter runs (3 to 7 days) suit smaller subreddits with low or no karma minimums.
Longer runs (14 to 30 days) suit large, strict subreddits. Use the markers on the chart to match the length to the minimum you need.
Not sure? Look at the subreddits you plan to post in most, find the highest karma minimum among them, and pick a length that passes it.
Common questions
Does karma building cost anything? No. It's free.
Can I build karma during warm-up? No. Karma building is available once the account is Active.
Can I run it more than once? Yes. Start a new round whenever you want to reach a higher karma level.
Can I still schedule posts while it builds? The account can't be picked until karma building ends, so schedule them after the end date, or cancel karma building first.
