What Are Engain Dedicated Accounts?

Dedicated Accounts give your brand its own Reddit account with a consistent personality, so your content is less likely to be banned or taken down, can reach high-karma subreddits, and goes out faster, with no credits per post.

Picture an account on Reddit that only talks about SaaS tools. It answers questions in r/SaaS and r/startups, shares what's worked for small teams, and its profile says it's building tools for small teams. When it recommends your product, it fits. Nothing about it looks out of place.

That's what an Engain Dedicated Account gives you. It's a Reddit account that belongs only to your brand. We create it, warm it up, and look after it every day. You use it to post and comment through Engain, and those posts and comments don't cost any credits.

The problem it solves

Our Engain pool accounts post for many different brands, on many different topics. To Reddit, an account that talks about project management tools in the morning and skincare in the afternoon doesn't look like a real person, and that mix of unrelated content is one of the main reasons accounts get banned and posts get removed. Dedicated Accounts are built to fix that.

The problem

How Dedicated Accounts fix it

Mixed content gets accounts banned. Pool accounts post varied content for lots of brands, so their activity doesn't follow a consistent pattern, and Reddit flags them.

Each dedicated account has its own personality built around your brand. It posts in the same topics and subreddits every time, so there's a natural, consistent link between the account and what it says. That means a lower chance of the account getting banned or your content being taken down.

High-karma subreddits flag low-karma accounts. Many subreddits set a minimum karma, and posts from accounts below it get filtered or removed.

With karma building, you choose how much karma the account has before it posts, anywhere from 3 to 30 days of growth. You can match the account to the subreddits you want to reach, so your content is far less likely to be flagged.

Shared accounts mean waiting in line. Pool accounts take requests from many customers, so your task joins a queue.

A dedicated account only takes your requests. There's no queue of other clients ahead of you, so your posts and comments go out faster.

Every task costs credits. Being active every week adds up fast.

Posts and comments from your dedicated account are free.

On top of that, you decide who the account is (its topic, subreddits, display name, picture, banner and bio), and we handle the day-to-day care that keeps it feeling human, like the 10-day warm-up and natural spacing between comments.

How it's different from the Engain pool

Without a dedicated account, your posts and comments go out from the Engain pool. These are trusted accounts that we run and share across customers, and each task costs credits. A dedicated account is used only by your workspace, keeps the same name every time, and costs nothing per task.

Because a dedicated account only ever talks about your brand's world, its posts follow a consistent pattern that Reddit sees as a real person, not a shared account jumping between topics. That means a lower chance of bans and takedowns than a pool account. With karma building, you can also raise its karma to fit the subreddits you're targeting, so posts in high-karma communities are less likely to be flagged. And since it only handles your requests, there's no queue of other clients ahead of you, so your content goes out faster.

You can use both. When you create a thread, the account dropdown shows the Engain pool at the top and your dedicated accounts underneath, marked Free.

How it works

  1. You add an account. Pick Automatic and we choose the topic and subreddits from your project. Pick Custom to set the topic, subreddits and profile yourself.

  2. We warm it up for 14 days. A brand-new account needs some history before Reddit trusts it. There's nothing for you to do, and we can email you when it's ready.

  3. You start posting. Pick the account in the thread builder whenever you create a post, comment or reply.

  4. Optional: build karma first. If your subreddits require more karma, we can grow it for 3 to 30 days before you post.

Every account shows its status on your Accounts page, so you always know where it stands: Warming up, Active, Building karma, or Needs attention if something needs a look.
