Why is the amount of upvotes less than the upvotes delivered?

The number you see on Reddit doesn’t always match the number of upvotes delivered. This is normal.

Reddit intentionally hides the exact vote count to prevent manipulation. The displayed number is often not exact.

2. Filtered or Discounted Votes

Reddit may ignore or discount some upvotes if activity looks suspicious.

3. Failed Upvotes

Some upvotes may fail due to Reddit limits or technical issues.

Failed upvotes are shown separately and you are not charged for them.

4. Downvotes from Other Users

Real users can downvote your post or comment.

Example: 20 upvotes and 5 downvotes will show as 15.
