Editing your Dedicated Account's profile

Your Dedicated Account's profile is what people see when they click on its name in Reddit. A profile that fits the account's topic makes every comment more believable. You can edit it anytime, including during warm-up.

What you can change

• Banner: the wide image at the top of the profile.

• Profile picture: the avatar shown next to every post and comment.

• Display name: the name shown on the profile, like EducatorSelot.

• Bio: a short description, like Reading threads more than posting. California. Always down to chat.

What you can't change

• Username: Reddit doesn't allow username changes. The username (like u/purehawk7827) is assigned when the account is created, and it stays the same.

• Topic: the topic is set when you add the account and shapes its whole history, so it can't be changed from the profile.

How to edit the profile

1. In the left sidebar, click Dedicated Accounts, then Accounts.

2. Open the account editor in any of these ways:

   • Click Edit in the top right of the account page.

   • Click Edit on the account's Profile card.

   • On the Accounts page, click ••• on the account's card, then Edit profile.

3. In the Edit account panel, click Change banner or Change picture to upload a new image, and update the Display name and Bio.

4. Click Save changes.

Tips for a believable profile

• Match the topic. An account about online education should read like someone who cares about learning, not like a brand page.

• Keep the bio casual. A few plain details about the person work best. Skip product names, links and calls to action.

• Use a natural picture. Avoid your company logo or product screenshots.

• Don't change it often. Real people rarely rework their profile. Set it up once and leave it.

Setting the profile when you add an account

If you choose Custom setup when adding an account, you can set the display name, profile picture and bio from the start. Leave them empty, or choose Automatic, and we'll create a profile that fits the topic. You can always edit it later.

Something look wrong with the profile on Reddit? Open the account and click Report, then choose The profile looks wrong.
